The Dental Industry Awards 2017 is one of the highlights of the professional year. The awards are organised by FMC in association with the British Dental Industry Association. FMC is the market leader in UK dental print, events and awards and one of the major communications companies specialising in the dental sector in the world.
This year I joined the judging panel comprising Industry Leaders and Dental Experts. Therefore, this added a whole new dimension to the event.
There is a wide range of 21 different categories, covering every aspect of the dental sector. These include Dental Brand of the Year and Employee of the Year. The categories also include Team of the Year; Website of the Year; Best use of PR and many others. I judged two categories. These were Customer Service Provider of the Year; more than 25 employees; and less than 25 employees. My fellow judge for these categories was Guy Hiscott, Head of Editorial at FMC.
We had numerous entries in both categories, and it took considerable time to do them all justice. Furthermore, we were looking for several key criteria. Because these areas would clearly differentiate out the best performers.
Successful companies put the customer at the heart of everything they do. So, we considered how the entrants monitored and fulfilled their customer needs and wants. Moreover, we recognised businesses going above and beyond to deliver superior service.
Finally, we shortlisted five businesses in the over 25 employee category. these were: –
Braemar Finance.
Christie & Co.
Portman Dental Care.
Software of Excellence.
WHW Plastics.
And, in the under 25 employee category, we shortlisted nine: –
Aerona Software.
Botox Training Club.
Dental Elite.
Dentalbuild Limited.
Hague Dental Supplies.
Implantium UK.
John Winter.
Osteocare Dental Implant Solutions.
Southern Cross Dental Laboratory.
Entries closed in May 2017 with the Awards presented at a Gala, Black-Tie Dinner on November 17th. The venue was the plush Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London. Actor Ian Kelsey, of Emmerdale, Casualty and Coronation Street fame compared the evening in real style! As a result, the audience of over 600 had a fabulous time.
Due to Ian’s hosting skills, there was real tension as the results were announced.
The winner in the over 25 employee category was Software of Excellence. They are a global leader in providing dental practice management software and marketing solutions to dentists and dental professionals. Software of Excellent is a first class company and this award is recognition of that.
Highly Commended was WHW Plastics. WHW is a leading Dental and Medical Manufacturer based on Humberside. They supply a comprehensive range of product to our profession. Again, this is very well deserved recognition.
The winner in the under 25 employee category was Hague Dental Supplies. Hague Dental is a family run dental equipment supplier, Based in Horsham. They offer innovative bespoke equipment solutions for Dental Practices in the UK, specialising in Surgery Design, Reception Design, Build and Dental Practice Refurbishment. In addition, they provide Efficient and Effective Dental Engineering. Hague Dental has won several times at these awards, over the years. A real tribute to continuing excellence in service.
Also Highly Commended was Botox Training Club. Another business that has had previous recognition, Botox Training Club offers dentists/medics/medical nurses the opportunity to attend accredited clinical workshops. This is very important work at a time when many unqualified and unregistered so called “practitioners” are operating.
In conclusion, the event was a great success and a real showcase for our industry.
These are all the winners of Dental Industry Awards 2017
Finally, congratulations to all the winners. Because, with such a high standard, these winners are ‘above and beyond’ in their categories.
